OceaNET 4th Annual Meeting
Hosted by WavEC Offshore Renewables and Tecnalia, Bilbao, 28th March 207
The OceaNET 4th Annual meeting was part of the Bilbao Marine Energy Week event that was organized in Bilbao, Spain. This meeting was held on the 28th of April and was a half-day event.
The project meeting started with an update of the last activities over the second half of the project, and was followed by a Management Committee meeting where the progress of each early stage researcher was discussed. Moreover, the preparation of the final reporting was also discussed. The meeting was attended by full partners and the early stage researchers.
OceaNET Mid Term Review Meeting
Hosted by WavEC Offshore Renewables, Marin and Deltares. Delft, the Netherlands, 20th April 2015
The OceaNET mid term review meeting was part of the Blueweek event that was organized in Delft, The Netherlands. This meeting was held on the 20th of April and was a daylong event.
The project meeting started with and update of the activities over the first half of the project, and was followed by a Management Committee meeting where the progress of each early stage researchers was discussed. Moreover, the future activities of the project were also discussed in this meeting. After lunch the early stage researchers gave a short presentation on their individual research projects. The meeting was attended by full partners, associated partners and the early stage researchers.

OceaNET short course and WP5 meeting
The OceaNET short course “Fixed and Floating offshore wind technology” and WP5 “Farm Design, Implementation and O&M” meeting took place from the 02nd to 6th February 2015 in Bremerhaven, Germany and was hosted by IWES Fraunhofer.
Two excursions took place:
– Tour de Wind: Bus tour to “wind” locations and companies in Bremerhaven (such as Deutsche WindGuard GmbH, Areva Wind GmbH, WeserWind GMBH …);
– Test Center Support Structures in Hannover: Travel from Bremerhaven to Hannover via bus line and visit the Test Center Support Structures in Hannover

Short Course
WP5 Project Meeting
OceaNET 1st Annual Meeting – hosted by WavEC Offshore Renewables
Lisbon, Portugal, 18th July 2014
The first annual OceaNET meeting took place at the IST Congress Centre in Lisbon on the 18th of July, following the 2nd OceaNET short-course hosted by IST. The meeting was a daylong event and included an update on the project activities in the last year and the Management Committee meeting to discuss network events for the coming year in the morning. This session was attended by project partners and the management team. After lunch the Early-Stage Researchers joined the meeting and each researcher gave a ten minute presentation on their individual research projects.

Lisbon July 2014 – 1st Annual Meeting attendees
OceaNET welcome seminar
The OceaNET welcome seminar took place at the Instituto de Hidráulica Ambiental (IH Cantabria), Universidad de Cantabria, in Santander, Spain. It was attended by the appointed Early-Stage Researchers and representatives from most of the project partners.
The welcome seminar was a daylong event and including an introduction of the OceaNET project for the fellows, a team building activity in the afternoon and a group dinner to finish off the day. Each fellow also gave a short self-introductory presentation to the group. The event facilitated the first meeting between fellows and the opportunity for the Scientist-in-Charge to meet the appointed fellows.

Kick-off meeting – hosted by WavEC Offshore Renewables
Lisbon, Portugal, 17th – 18th October
A plenary session was conducted on the afternoon of day 1 to provide an overview of the OceaNET project as detailed in Annex I (work packages, timescales, and deliverables) and to provide partners with information on recruitment, financial and reporting procedures.
On the morning of day 2 parallel sessions were led by the work package leaders, together with the relevant partners, to provide an opportunity for partners to review the work package objectives, timescales and deliverables. Finally discussions were held on the short-course schedule and the short-courses for 2014 were defined.
